Conservatories make excellent studios

Posted on December 30, 2006      by paul

A recent shoot in a client’s conservatory at their home shows just how good natural light is and what a perfect studio a glass building can be.

I prefer to take a shoot to the clients home where they will be more relaxed and everything is to hand for them.
Contemporary portraiture is becoming more and more popular now. Strong, punchy images (in this case with a cross-processed finish) framed with modern, top quality materials and finishes provides an excellent wall mount for any family home.

Paul, I saw some of your comments on the SWPP forums. You mentioned how you were getting good portrait effects in conservatories bouncing your SB800 into a brolly.
I’m trying to do something similar but am looking for a good setup with stand, etc., including something to mount the speedlite into.
If you could see your way to letting me know how you do yours, I would very much appreciate it.
Good luck with your business.
Regards,

Paul Hurst

email me at paul@paulhurstphotography.co.uk and I’ll send you details of my lighting setup. Thanks.
